Sometimes you are coming to the store, see the fabric and over sudden fall in love with it! Even the color is not that pretty... Even the price is too high... But you imagine immediately how beautiful it's gonna look in a ready made bag! This is it: lime with purple accents:

I picked green and purple zippers, green and purple matching fabrics for pockets, lime for lining and inside pockets lining.

Lime color exterior fabric is upholstery polyester, easy to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth. 

Made it in 2 days!

Now couple words about it:

This elegant bag will nicely organize and carry all your sewing, quilting or any other craft supplies. It has 18 pockets! The space under the pockets will allow you to keep there ruler or any other flat items. Ironing pad on the flap side, when unsnapped, can be replaced with beading mat, if you want to use this bag for beading and jewelry making. Large pockets are the regular size of magazine. Patterns will go to smaller flat pockets. Mesh pockets will organize smaller items. Vinyl clear badge holders, sewn to the front side pockets, will keep the cards from your favorite craft shops! Elastic band will allow you to keep pencils, markers and even longer items there, because the slots sewn by 45 degrees angle. You can keep your phone on the outside zippered pocket with embroidery. The pocket on the back side of the bag will hold the bag on the rolling bag or cart. The length of the handles is enough to carry this bag on the shoulder too.  I divided one long separated zipper for two: one for the top of the bag and one for the exterior pocket. All you need is remove some teeth and add the puller.

I am so heartbroken today...

Another trip to Gatlinburg today added some sad news about our close neighbor. She was the 14-th victim of the wildfire, which we didn't know then.

May Vance, 75, of Gatlinburg. She died of a heart attack related to smoke inhalation. According to her obituary, Mrs. Vance enjoyed gardening, sewing, trips to the beach, animals, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

We saw the wreath and flowers on the rock wall when we first were allowed to come there,

but thought it was their tribute to their beloved lost house, where they lived permanently for many years... Wrong. They were married for 60 years and she passed away on her husband's birthday.

I met May in person several years ago. We talked sometimes, when were walking out our dogs. She had Peanut,  such an adorable little yorkie dog, and I was with Murphy. They loved their place, it's been always nicely decorated, pretty figurines in front of the house, lovely flower baskets... On the day of the fire my husband and me went out to see what was going on when the fire sparked on the electric pole and power went off. May also came there with Peanut, she was wearing blue T-shirt with Air Force sign on it,- that's how i remember seeing her that day. We talked a little bit and all came back home. That was the last time we saw her. So sad.

Their house was just next door to the "Angel's landing" property, I was telling the story about in one of my previous posts.

Gatlinburg fire: Ski Mountain road

Today we could see some progress in Chalet Village. A lot of machinery, excavators, trucks cleaning the mess of tremendous fire destruction.

And lots of stars for inspiration everywhere:

She was in my list of neighbors who I was going to make a memory quilt to. Now it will be also in a memory of her for the family.

Introducing our new family member: Jack. Jack Patton

Jack was born literally next day after we lost our house in a wildfire in Gatlinburg. New life replaces the loss! He is adorable puppy! Golden retriever with some lab mix.

I know, it will not last long, he is growing up fast, but I designed and made this kangaroo carrier for him; it helps me to carry him around hands free! It's also fluffy, soft and comfy! He loves it a lot!

Then I made one more...

I guess, I need to write the instructions too! I will!

Elegant DIY clutch

I just love this pattern! Made one more clutch, now with elegant dress and sewing notions fabric theme.

The size of the bag is 9 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 5".

It has three zippered pockets inside, not sewn to the bottom, so you can keep some flat items underneath, such as ruler, templates , patterns or so.

The lining of the bag is made of aluminized coating ironing pad fabric, so it can be used for small applique or piecing projects, when miniature iron is needed. When ironing, fusible web is melting and easily sticks to the regular fabric this pad has a special coating, which protects it from sticking. If it accidentally happens, you can easily remove the fused particle when hot, simply rubbing the surface with your fingers or damp cloth.

It's been raining all day yesterday...

... andI put my first batch of leaves together.
All blocks framed in Mountain moss color are donated by 11 people, I wrote about in my previous post. Black framed leaves are made by me.
Still have enough blocks to make one more quilt, thanks to those, who sent more than one leaf! Possibly will receive some more from more than 200 people, who asked me for the pattern.
Still a lot of work ahead. I am in progress...
