Yey!!! My new tutorial for the Quilters Organizer bag is released and now on Craftsy!

This bag has TEN pockets and ironing pad inside. Long detachable shoulder strap makes it easy and convenient to carry along with your sewing machine and purse in other hand.

This bag is a perfect organizer for your quilting tools and supplies for classes and retreats.  Separating zipper allows you to open it all the way and lay flat! Four pairs of snaps on each side make it keep box-shaped, open flat at one side only or flat all the way! The interior of the bag lined up with aluminized coating fabric, so you can use it as an ironing pad for your small projects when using miniature iron.

Elastic band on the side of one of the pockets will keep your pencils and other marking supplies in close vicinity and well organized.

The other two pockets have additional exterior mesh pockets. The medium long pocket is divided in half for two smaller pockets to keep spools, clips and other small items.

And there is enough space for your 12" x 6" ruler and small cutting mat UNDER the pockets.

Look at this bear we just met at our neighbors' house!

Eyeglass case 2 in one, double sided.

For those of you who are like me and hate fussing with two separate holders for my glasses and sunglasses will probably like my solution - one double sided case for both, sunglasses and reading/eye glasses. You can carry it on your wrist or detach it when not needed.

 Bright color part for sunglasses, black and white for eye glasses - never mess up and always in one place! 

You can also stick couple bucks in between from one side and your business card or any other card from another – perfect size for cards! Don’t worry, you won’t loose your money or card, the slot is pretty tight.

Finished size - 7" x 3" x 1 1/2".

If you wear only one pair of glasses, the second part can be also used for your cell phone and other small items, like lipstick or some perfume. Also a great gift!

Shell pouch with embroidered anchor + steering wheel and clear pockets

 Ready for the cruise? Take this pouch with you!

Medium (9" x 5 1/2" x 3") or smaller (7" x 5 /2" x 3") sizes.

It has two invisible magnetic clasps and two clear zippered pockets.

You can use it as a regular cosmetic bag

 or as a busy bag or organizer for your small crafting project you want to take with you!
Medium size pouch holds up to 6 spools on one side and the small one up to 4.

This is my original design and I will show you the nice advantage of this bag as for the traveller or taking it with you for the class, retreat or just using it when you are a passenger in the car, cruise ship, airplane etc.

Here's how it works.

Place your spool in the pocket. 

Pick the color of the thread you want to use, pool the thread through opened zipper and thread the needle using threader (I recommend Clover threader).

Now pull the needle with thread through the fabric top part of the pouch where those magnetic clasps are attached.

And leave your needle on the magnet! Now you can zip your pouch. 

You can also pull through all of those threads and leave just a little tail of each color. No worry about dropping or loosing your spools, they are nicely organized in the pocket. And no need to unzip it every time you ned to start with another color of thread.

And one more little convenience: when you open it, the bottom makes nice triangular shape on the bottom which perfectly fits the place on your lap between your legs, and the top is totally flat and clear,  just like a little table.

How to pack Quilters sewing bag and get ready for the class or retreat. Demonstration.

Quilters sewing bag is a good option to keep most of your quilting supplies all in one place when you go for the class or retreat. It is also handy in use when you keep it open close to your sewing machine or on the side of your working place.

The size of the bag is 13 1/2"x6 1/2"x7". To visualize better the size of this bag I put 12"x6" ruler on the side.

 

Now let's see how you can use more efficiently the space of your bag due to the generous construction of the pockets.

Pull double slider zipper from the center to both ends and open your bag flat in front of you.

Slide your 12"x6" ruler and small cutting mat under the pockets. I also take my 6 1/2"x6 1/2" square ruler, still have enough room for extra half inch there. The width of the bag is 13 1/2", so 12" ruler slides there pretty easily when you open one side as shown on the picture.

If you look now from the top you can see them all laying flat, making the bottom of the bag sturdy.

I provide my bag with a swivel hook/lobster clasp on the side, so you can attach 3 (or more) clear vinyl bags. You can stuff them them with small and flat items like sewing needles, patterns and templates, pencils and marking tools.

These bags also keep the whole bag in nicer shape when it's packed. Different colors of these vinyl bags will help you to memorize which stuff belongs to what color. 

If you are planning to take large sewing spools, you can stuck vertically between the pockets. You can keep there up to 6 large spools. Or place your regular size spools between the pockets. You can also take another clear bag and organize the spools by size and color.

Now put your small items like needle threader, wonder clips, thimble, magnetic ring pin pincushion, tape measure, that purple thang, needles in zippered pocket.

Put your roller cutters in another pocket,

And your scissors, and seam ripper to the third pocket. And you still have some room left on the side of the bag where you can put your miniature iron.

And you still have some room on the opposite side where you can put some pieces of fabrics.
Your bag is stuffed now.
Tuck the "ears" with zippered ends with your both hands inside for better look.

If you add handles to this bag it will be looking just like a regular purse.
